A Farsi translated adaptation of Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt’s “A Long Path to Death” is going to be on stage by Elham Yusefi in Montreal on March 13th to 16th at 4001 Berri.
Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt (born 28 March 1960) is a French and Belgian dramatist, novelist, fiction writer and film director. His plays have been staged in over fifty countries all over the world.
In this Podcast I am talking to Elham and her two actors. We are talking about the reason behind of choosing this specific work of Schmitt, how they avoid some acting habits that are somewhat popular in Persian theatres, and how on earth they could prepare for this two hour performance in almost 30 days.
This is going to be Elham’s second experience of theatre. She is 29 years old, studied Architecture at University of British Columbia . She started to bring her stories on stage 1 year ago by a theatre named “Somebody Call My Mother”. In our talk she refers to her new work as OUR work and says this is a collaboration between her and her two actors Ghazal Parto and Maziyar Shahcheraghi.
Ghazal Parto playing her role as “Vafa”, is a professional stage actor who we saw her outstanding performance on “Two Ducks in The Fog” a few months ago in Montreal. She lives in Toronto but after her one month stays in Montreal it seems she is almost convinced to move here permanently.
Maziyar Shahcheraghi studied Cinema at O’Sullivan College in Montreal. He is one the most active artist I know in Persian community here. We have seen 5 works by him, since he moved to Canada.

این منِ تو، روایت الهام یوسفی از نمایشنامه‌ی «خرده جنایت هایِ زناشوهری» ست که با بازیِ مازیار شاهچراغی و غزالِ پرتو در روزهایِ دوازدهم تا پانزدهم مارچ به رویِ صحنه می‌رود.
در این نمایش کارگردان به زندگیِ زناشوهری و عشق می‌پردازد. اين زوج در باب عشق و دلدادگی كه در پارامتری به نامِ «زمان» دستخوش تغییر می‌شود بحث مى كنند . شخصیت‌هایِ این نمایش نماینده‌یِ زوج‌هایی هستند که زندگی خود را عاشقانه و پرشور آغاز می‌کنند و پس از سال‌ها دوباره پی همان شورِ آتشین می‌گردند
اين دومين كار اين كارگردان مى باشد كه در مونترال به روى صحنه مى رود . كار اول وى “يك نفر مادرم را صدا بزند” در ژانويه ى سال دو هزار چهارده اجرا شده است . الهام يوسفى دانش آموخته ى رشته ى معمارى در دانشگاه بريتيش كلمبيا در ونكور مى باشد
غزال پرتو بازيگر اين كار كه چندى پيش در كار ” دو مرغابى در مه ” به كارگردانى سياوش شعبانپور خوش درخشيد، در اين كار نقش ” وفا ” را بازى مى كند. مازيار شاهچراغى در نقش “حميد” نيز چندى پيش با تاتر “سه” به كارگردانى مانى سليمانلو خوش درخشيد. وى از پركارترين بازيگران ايرانى مهاجر در كانادا مى باشد
